WHO ARE WE?

Girl Victorious is not just an organization, but a brand, geared towards supporting those who have experienced past trauma, particularly childhood sexual abuse. We exist because of 3 essential fibers: perseverance, faith, and determination.

Our mission is to inspire and empower women and young girls to enjoy life after trauma. We do this by emphasizing self-care, and by providing relevant resources, literature, and products that promote physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.

Our belief is that we were designed by God to live a victorious and undefeated life. We believe that survivors of trauma should be celebrated. We believe to be possible what others see as impossible. We will persevere. We will shine. We will rise.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR & FOUNDER

LeTecia Ray is a children’s book author and the founder of Girl Victorious. She holds a master’s degree in Social Work, and is trained in crisis intervention, advocacy, and trauma-informed care. She is passionate about helping children to overcome trauma. Ray has worked in the North Carolina and Georgia school systems as a School Social Worker for over 20 years.

If you know anything about LeTecia, it’s that she is passionate about writing and helping others. Her love of writing began when she was 7 years old, at which time she started dabbling with poetry as a means of breaking away from the stress of her own painful childhood secrets.

Throughout high school, Ray took creative writing classes and even had some of her poems published in a variety of anthologies. But her passion did not stop there. She was determined to turn those poetic ramblings into inspirational children’s books, and she did just that.

An overcomer herself of childhood sexual abuse, LeTecia’s determination was motivated by one powerful phrase, “I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me strength,” Philippians 4:13. The author is now devoted to inspiring and empowering young girls and women to heal from past wounds and to enjoy life after trauma. Ray resides in the Atlanta-metro area with her husband and three children. Aside from writing, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

FAMILY MATTERS

I am grateful for many things, but above all, for my family. This is my most important job, loving and caring for my husband and 3 amazing children. They inspire me to be the best version of wife and mommy that I can be.

My husband is my best friend and biggest supporter. We have been married and in love for over 20 years now, which is a true testament due to the strain that trauma puts on one’s marriage. Our wedding photo was featured in Jet Magazine all those years ago, and I was tickled immensely to see our photo in a national publication. You can read about it here.

I am a School Social Worker by profession, and an alumnus of UNC Greensboro and USC Columbia.

However, I am most humbled to be an overcomer of childhood sexual abuse. As a child, I struggled silently with my abuse for years while growing up in the church as a pastor’s kid. Those struggles grew and spilled over into my adult life, but I am so thankful that I persevered and never gave up. Because of this, I am devoted to helping others overcome similar trauma.

For me, traveling is therapeutic. It is consciously setting aside necessary time for self-care. When I travel, I am giving myself permission to reflect, to refuel, and to enjoy life.

On my not-so-busy days, when I am not traveling or planning a trip, you can likely find me writing, binge-watching Christmas movies, or enjoying back-to-back episodes of Law and Order Special Victims Unit.

Every day I am reminding myself that “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength,” Philippians 4:13. My story is simple. I once lived life through the eyes of a victim, but through the powerful transformation and love I found in Jesus Christ, I am now living my life as the person I was created to be…Victorious!
